Your Circle (of friends)

I started blogging back in 2013. To say it’s been easy would be an understatement. I didn’t know what the heck I was doing; I struggled with formulating ideas and making them clear on the blog. Several months into finding my way in such a saturated field, I met some amazing women and reconnected with friends from the past. It was so exciting to have my friends root for me and encourage me along the way. Surely they all meant well and wanted the best for me. After all, they are my friends.

I can remember my granny saying, “You don’t have to do anything to anyone for them to mistreat you.” Well, it took me a very long time to realize that. Over time, I’ve reached out to many women and collaborated/worked with some amazing women in the industry – but I soon realized not all have the same intentions or heart. Many of them were very pleasant & enjoyable, while others seemed to have a cold heart.

I wanted to use today’s post to encourage each of you to evaluate who’s in your circle. Are they worthy to stand in such an intimate space? Your friends are there to support, sacrifice, & even suffer with you. Whatever it is that you desire- do it. Despite who comes in and out of your circle, continue to do it with your head held high. YOU GOT THIS!

  1. Thank you, seems I have had to do some self evaluation as well as looking at my circle for the last year. As hard as it has been it has been well worth it. I know it’s a process.

  3. Ok, this post hit so close to home for me. I started blogging recently in 2016, and I am enjoying the process very much. I blog fashion, and home. Seeing your blog, ignites my passion for learning, and love for the passion. I even recently had the same feeling going through my spirit, about what I was choosing to do. Thank you for being so positive, and uplifting for everyone. I really needed this so much. I am hoping that in the near future that you and I can do a Fabulous collab together! Your beautiful girl, keep being you….

  4. Love this post!!! I too am learning who to have in my circle. While myself out there as blogger as well I learned that you cant just work with everyone because they have their own vision and don’t want for you to steal their shine. All you want to do is see how you can both benefit and work together. So i really appreciate this post. Thanks!!!!
